What - The Himmel Laurot was a passion project between two friends who had studied viticulture together at university in the student capital of Brno. After years of searching, they bought a small cellar in Pavlov village in the volcanic area of Moravia where they could refine and develop their love of natural, eco-friendly winemaking.
This juice bomb is produced from a cross varietal grape called Laurot. Laurot is a cross between Merlan and Fratava (both varieties are also crosses). After hand harvesting and a natural fermentation in steel, the grapes are basket pressed before ageing in french oak for two years. This juice is then bottled directly from the barrel with no added sulphite.
This wine is light and gluggable, bursting with notes of blackcurrant, blueberries, pepper, tobacco and minerals. We're developing a huge love for Czech wines and this is a great introduction if, like us, you're curious about what's on offer.
Soft, savoury, delicious. Vegan. Organic. Low intervention. 14% ABV.
