Grape - Colombard, Grenache, Roussanne, Marsanne, Macabeu, Melon de Bourgogne

Where - Loire Valley, France

What - The Caillé family have proven themselves as committed winemakers after five generations, producing delicious wines at their farm in the heart of the Muscadet Sevre et Maine appellation. They're all about loving the land; protecting other species and letting nature do its thing.

The man in charge, Vincent Caillé, took over in 1986 and has since been consistently producing really expressive natural white wines. We don't know how he keeps his prices so reasonable - they taste way more expensive than they are!

His vines are grown on a different types of soil (gneiss, gabbro and orthogneiss) organically and free from destructive processes. Down in the cellar, however, he keeps things traditional by vinifying with indigenous yeast and long ageing on lees.

The Je Taime Mas J'ai Soif (I Love You But I'm Thirsty) is so good. It's vibrantly textured with an oily mouthfeel. There are so many wonderful flavours on the nose; think floral, fruity and fresh. On tasting, you can expect luxurious notes of chalk, butter, melon, lavender, poached pears and an overall good acidity. It's great.

Mineral, floral, smooth. Vegan. Organic practicing. Low intervention. ABV 12%.
