Grape - Gewurztraminer

What - Man, this is a difficult wine to describe. Words will not do it justice, but here we go. 
 
The Lune Rousse Gewurztraminer is glorious. Worship-worthy. It comes to us from Domaine Camille Braun in the Orschwihr area of Alsace. It's a strange-looking place (we might've taken a Google Maps tour) but the wine that comes out of there is next, next, next level. 
 
Braun's son, Christophe, took over the winery in the 80s and has converted the vineyards to biodynamic which has meant an even lighter-footed approach ensues nowadays. Everything is sustainable and directed towards producing truly epic wines.
 
The Lune Rousse has undergone 10 days of skin maceration to give it a sexy golden glow. It has then been aged on fine lees in demi-muid for 6-months.
 
This is a wine that is all about minerality and the floral aspects of Gewurztraminer. Peach skins, dried apricot, orange blossom, lychee, limestone and fresh pear. This will surprise you, for sure!
