Grape - Nero D’Avola/ Frappato
Where - Sicily, Italy
What - Arianna Occhipinti is a bit of a local legend in southern Sicily. Having grown up in a winemaking family, she took over the family winery back 2003. Unlike generations before her, Arianna is keen to keep things as natural as possible. Her Nero and Frappato fruit is sourced from organic vineyards grown along the southern coast of Sicily. Once destemmed, the grapes are crushed and vinified in stainless steel using wild yeasts. She then ages the wine in the same tanks for 6 months before bottling hazy with minimal sulphite.
The Occhipinti SP68 Rosso is a racy, aromatic red wine with notes of sour cherry, blackcurrants, greengage and rose petal.
Floral, racy, legendary. Vegan. Organic. Low Intervention. 12.5% ABV.
