Grape - Carignan/Grenache/Cabernet Sauvignon
Where - Mendocino County, California, USA
What - In terms of progressive winemakers in the USA, Ruth Lewandowski wines top the list. They operate from Mendocino County, CA and Salt Lake City, UT. They have built themselves a towering reputation for producing some of the most experimental and enthralling wines available right now and we are beyond excited to have the Boaz on our metaphorical shelves.
The red grapes are sourced from their Testa ranch site in Mendocino County and then transferred in concrete eggs to their winery in Salt Lake City. The grapes are naturally fermented in whole bunches before being aged in neutral barriques.
This wine sings sweetly of all the big dark fruit notes you would expect from California reds, but also offers a tarter profile of wild strawberry, lavender, spice and young plums. We'd be tempted to say this is one of our favourite red wines to grace our presence this year.
Fruit-forward, exciting, floral. No added SO2. Vegan. Organic. Low intervention. 13.3% ABV.
