Grape - Monastrell, Grenache
Where - Costers del Segre, Spain
What - Lagravera was established in 2006 from an old gravel pit converted into beautiful vines between the Pyrenees and Ebro Valley - a mountainous terroir with huge potential for traditional tasting Spanish wine.
The grapes for 2019's Laltre has undergone hand-harvest and quality selection three times for extra precision. Total maceration occurs over 15-20 days before 3-months of ageing in old French oak. It's bottled without fining, filtration or the addition of sulphites and put straight onto the market.
This is a really great food wine that'll pair well with pretty much anything! The aroma offers delicate notes of violet, blackberry, toffee and wild strawberries, and after a little half-hour decant, the mouthfeel is wonderfully smooth and ripe. On the palate, you can expect flavours of forest fruits, blueberry and black peppercorn.
Fruit-forward, food-friendly, ripe. Vegan. Low intervention. ABV 14%.
