Grape - Cortese
Where - Dunnigan Hills, California, USA
What - California is renowned for producing large volumes of Chardonnay, so rarely do the smaller European regional varieties get a look in. Steve Matthiasson seeks to change all of this with the banging Tendu Cortese. We love this wine so much.
To make this excellent natural white wine, small parcels of sustainably grown varieties are hand-selected. High-quality juice is vinified in old neutral barrels and then further aged. Each wine is bottled in lightweight, American-made bottles and capped with eco-friendly, biodegradable corks. Every aspect of the making process is intricately thought through and as sustainable as possible. As with all of his wines, Steve bottles without fining or filtration.
Like its red counterpart, the Tendu Cortese seeks to be a bright, fresh wine perfect for the Californian sunshine. This is a vibrant, zesty white with notes of lime leaf, citrus, tropical fruit, herb and citrus blossom.
Zesty, racy, citrus. Vegan. Organic. Low intervention. 12% ABV.
