There’s nothing polite about this red — and that’s what makes it great. Coup de Sang translates as “rush of blood”, and this bottle delivers just that. A bold, brooding blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc from Languedoc, it brings deep plum, dark cherry and earthy herbs, with just enough structure to keep it smart. Made with minimal intervention by Stéphanie and Olivier Ramé, it’s a proper boots-on-the-ground red that still knows how to clean up nicely.

Pairs with: Steak frites, mushroom risotto, or a heated debate over the best Tarantino film.
