Grape - Viura/Godello
Where - Rioja, Spain
What - The Gran Cerdo is satirically named after the fat cat bankers who continue to deny winemakers bank loans because the returns aren’t deemed high enough. This wine celebrates alternative methods of starting up an enterprise and alternative forms of funding. Gonzalo Gonzalo Grijalba is the maker behind the wine and he continually kicks ass by refusing to conform to traditions.
This is a Viura blend from the outer reaches of the Rioja area. Organic fruit is hand-harvested and fermented in steel using wild yeasts. The juice is blended and bottled without fining, filtration or with the addition of unnecessary sulphites.
This sings of the Viura grape. Notes of peach, pears, zest and herb are in abundance. You could easily smash back a few bottles with friends and enjoy every sip! It's a zingy organic wine that offers a great introduction to the exciting world of natural wine.
Zingy, fruity, rounded. Vegan. Organic. Low intervention. 11.5% ABV.
