What - Winery of Good Hope is the second project from the legends at Radford Dale Vintners in Stellenbosch. Headed up by Alex Dale, these guys strive to produce great value, terroir focused wines with as little environmental damage as possible.
 
Terrace grown Syrah is harvested from two plots in the foot of the Helderberg Mountain. After sorting through the grapes, the best are kept for pressing, cold soaking and naturally fermentation in tank. The wine is then raised in neutral oak barrels for 14 months before release. Minimal sulphite.
 
The result is a burly, gutsy red with soft fine grain tannins offering plush notes of bramble, blackcurrant, currant leaf, pepper and herbs
