Grape - Tempranillo
Where - Castille Y Leon, Spain
What - Alfredo Maestro is a rebellious winemaker practicing in an area of spain more commonly known as Ribera del Duero. With that said, Alfredo likes to source some of his fruit from outside the region so all his wines are declassified. The Valdecastrillo is crafted from 100% organic tempranillo. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel with wild yeasts before ageing in secondhand french oak for 12 months. The wines are bottled hazy with minimal sulphite.
This is a powerful tempranillo with notes of kirsch, cherries, spice, leather and mocha.
Big, chocolatey, indulgent. 15% ABV.
