Grape - Cabernet Franc/Merlot
Where - Castillon, Bordeaux, France
What - Since 2008 Puy Arnaud, has been owned and run by lengendary bordeaux winemaker Thierry Valette. Thierry has been at the forefront of modern bordeaux making in the 90's and 2000's with previous head winemaking gigs at wineries like Troplong Mondot and Chateau Gloria. He has abandoned these appointments though to do his own thing in a way that he wants.
Today, Puy Arnaud is biodynamic and boasts some of the most sort after fruit in Castillon. This younger style of bordeaux made for young drinking is soft and floral with heady notes of raspberry, dried cranberry, graphite, herbs and toasted cedar. Perfect with a winter stew.
Fresh, complex, biodynamic. Low intervention. 13% ABV
